Windows 8 Blue is a SP1 for Windows 8, even though it has a fancy name in reality that's what it is.
Since Windows 8 has been one of the biggest flops since Windows ME & Windows Vista; Microsoft’s plan to release a new version of Windows every year now. But you can also think of Windows Blue as Windows 9 as well, since Microsoft goes forward on their Service Packs and never looks back.
Windows 8: Blue is a major change that will result in a new release of Windows every 12 months — just like Apple’s OS X. Blue will roll out mid-2013, and will be very cheap - or even possibly free if they make it as a SP1 to Windows 8.
