Twitter To Warn Users if Their Account is Hacked By A Government.

The Micro-blogging service sent emails to users that hackers may be trying to breach phone numbers, email ID and IP addresses.

In the message,

"At this time, we have no evidence they obtained your account information, but we're actively investigating this matter," according to Coldhak, a Canada-based nonprofit organization that posted a copy of the letter it received on Twitter. "We wish we had more we could share, but we don't have any additional information we can provide at this time."

A spokesman for San Francisco-based Twitter confirmed the authenticity of the emails but declined to provide further comment.

Twitter is unclear that how many numbers of accounts be affected. It's the first time that Twitter has issued the warning. Social Media account company said they are still investigating this matter.

Business Insider reported that some of the biggest hacks and security vulnerabilities this year have involved Android devices, Mac OS X, Dell computers, GM's OnStar system, online dating service Ashley Madison, and U.S. government websites.

In 2013 Twitter alerted about more than 200,000 users of the email address and password which have been stolen. Most of the victims are security researchers, activists and journalist.

 In October Facebook warned users to secure the accounts and recommend to protect the account with strong password.

Meanwhile in June 2012, Google have given security warning for State-Sponsored attack.
